The golden rule

Those who communicate best are those who understand that communication starts with what the other guy needs. They concern themselves not only with the idea of getting their own ideas across but whether the listener is equal to what they want to say. They are also concerned about getting feedback whether it is written, verbal, or even a mass meeting. Communication is function of exchange. And communication is effective in direct proportion to participation. When you are a good listener, both you and the other fellow go away from even a quick exchange of words with a warm feeling inside. There has been communication. The very word “communicate” comes from roots meaning “to make common.” It is purpose is to turn an idea into a shared possession.
